PPC Advertising – The Importance of The Landing Page
PPC advertising is similar to other advertising and marketing methods in that what you do upfront as preparation can have a dramatic impact. In fact, we will state that you can sow the seeds of success or failure in your planning. This might sound like a clich?, but it is very truthful. This is also based on personal experience. If you have never taken the time to become knowledgeable about running a PPC campaign, then you will be stumped on how it really works. You are going to notice that it takes forever for your first few campaigns to go live because chances are, they aren’t going to be that spectacular. But, as you create more campaigns, you will find more creative ways to do them.
Gone are the days when you could make a quick squeeze page and capture optins. The only reason for that is Google wants to give the end user a better experience. You can greatly diminish your learning curve when you listen to folks who have been at it for years. You will not need to make a lot of content for this, either, and you can even use improved PLR and be fine. What you will want to do is make sure that you do not look like you are shoving the optin box in their faces.
Sure lots of people like to rave about how powerful Google is, it isn’t a good idea to become too reliant on the AdWords keyword research tool. There are quite a lot of reasons for this and one of the bigger reasons is that it is famous for its lack of reliability. There are so many accounts of all of this being true and you can read them pretty much everywhere. A lot of the time the monthly volume numbers get inflated and sometimes they don’t receive the reporting they deserve. So, I use a combination of coming up with my own plus using other sources such as Wordtracker.
If you are really serious about success with PPC advertising, then take some time and get solid experience at smaller search engines. Most of the time these are called second tier or secondary search engines. You will find that they are easier to work with, that there isn’t as much competition and that they cost less when you want to run your ads. This is the real reason that you do this work, so that you can save some time. So work hard with these smaller engines and work on your ad writing skills. This will also help you feel more comfortable with the way search engines work before you try your hand at Google or Bing.
These are the types of PPC advertising strategies that will be taught to you from a verifiable source. Don’t think about learning from the free stuff that Google gives you. This is because it is all over the place and not consistent. Locate a good learning tool and study everything about it. Get things rolling when you are ready.
